"Performance Improvement – Using Data as a Management Tool"

Through the development of a balanced performance measurement system, organizational leaders can monitor the
rhythms of organizational life. Even in turbulent times, this system allows continuous evaluation of strategic
direction and organizational vitality. This session will address the development of a system that provides
leaders with a picture of organizational performance over time from which effective decisions can be made.
Objectives:
- Identify the purpose of Balanced Performance Indicators
- See the relationship between performance measurement and the budgeting process
- Select Balanced Performance Indicators
- Recognize the benefits of benchmarking
- Analyze trended data
- Recognize the purpose of special data cuts
- Understand the value of Operational Definitions
- Recognize when to use Radar Charts, run charts, correlation charts and bar charts
